Introductory Course in Vibration and Analysis

Introductory Course in Vibration and Analysis

This course provides a well-balanced mix of both theoretical and practical training, making it ideal for users of vibration measurement instruments, regardless of their previous experience. To begin, we thoroughly explore why vibration measurement is important, what key factors influence machine performance, and what different measurement methods are available.

Practical Training

In addition to the theoretical aspects, we also conduct practical measurements in our laboratory, allowing participants to clearly connect real-world experiences with actual measurement results. Moreover, we focus on handling the instruments in the most efficient and effective way. For those taking the basic course with an emphasis on a specific instrument, we further enhance learning through extensive hands-on exercises, covering both the instrument itself and the OMNITREND software.

After the Course, Participants Will Have Knowledge Of:

  • Condition monitoring and its applications in industrial settings.
  • Fundamental principles of vibrations, including why and how they occur.
  • Common causes of vibrations, particularly in relation to different machine components.
  • Resonance and critical speeds, and their impact on machine performance.
  • Bearing damage detection, including an introduction to envelope techniques and other methods.
  • Different types of vibration trends, helping to identify early warning signs of potential issues.
  • Analysis of frequency data and time signals, allowing for deeper insight into machine conditions.
  • Industry standards for vibration measurement, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Instrument-Specific Training Includes:

  • Exploring the full potential of OMNITREND and the selected instrument, maximizing usability and performance.
  • Performing off-the-shelf measurements (free measurements) with confidence.
  • Structuring and organizing data by creating a custom database.
  • Setting up and managing measurement rounds efficiently.
  • Downloading, measuring, and uploading rounds for streamlined data collection.
  • Analyzing measurement data using the OMNITREND software for better decision-making.
