LMI Gocator 5500 Series
LMI Gocator 5500 series adds patented line confocal imaging (LCI) technology to the LMI Gocator family of trusted laser and structured light 3D smart sensors. These sensors are unique among existing confocal technologies in that they feature a dual-axis optical design that delivers simultaneous generation of 3D topography, 3D tomography, and 2D intensity data.

Gocator 5500 SERIES
Smart 3D Line Confocal Sensors
The LMI Gocator 5500 series brings patented line confocal imaging (LCI) technology to the LMI Gocator family of 3D smart sensors. This innovative technology allows the Gocator 5500 series to deliver high-speed, wide-coverage line scanning while simultaneously generating 3D topography, 3D tomography, and 2D intensity data. As a result, the Gocator 5500 series can scan almost any type of material—including multi-layered, transparent, translucent, curved edges, shiny, specular, high-contrast textured, mixed, and many more—with submicron precision. In addition, it performs at a level of quality and speed that outperforms other competing confocal technologies.
Dual-Axis Optical Design to Detect Finer Features
The Gocator 5500 sensors use a dual-axis optical system. This system not only improves noise immunity but also provides higher signal quality. Because of this, the sensors can scan difficult surfaces and detect very fine features with greater accuracy.
Generates 3D Tomography, 3D Topography, and 2D Intensity Data
Thanks to the Gocator 5500 sensors, you can simultaneously generate 3D tomography, 3D topography, and 2D intensity data for every layer of a material. This capability makes it possible to measure the thickness of individual layers or detect defects in secondary layers, improving the overall inspection process.
High Speed, High Resolution
The Gocator 5500 sensors are equipped with a custom high-speed imager and high-performance electronics. Together, they allow the sensors to provide metrology-grade inspection at speeds over 16 kHz, with PC acceleration. Furthermore, the sensors offer scalable fields of view, X resolutions as fine as 2.5 microns, and Z repeatability up to 0.05 microns, ensuring high-quality results.
Measurement and Inspection Software Included
The Gocator 5500 sensors are built on LMI’s advanced smart sensor design, which includes an easy-to-use, web-based interface. This interface provides built-in measurement tools, I/O connectivity, and multi-layer profiling support. Additionally, these functions are accelerated with the use of a PC, making the setup process even smoother. accelerated using a PC.
