pureMEMS Saved a Flue Gas Fan

Bearing Fault Detected Before Failure

At Växjö Energi AB, MLT’s wireless pureMEMS sensors predicted an early-stage fault in a critical flue gas fan. In mid-October, our AI software MultiViz detected an abnormal deviation in the vibration pattern. On the very same day, our vibration engineer confirmed the presence of bearing currents, which with high probability would have led to an acute bearing failure. The customer was informed, and four days later, during a scheduled shutdown, the failure was successfully prevented.

Through the right strategy, modern technology, and close technical support, a potentially costly and operationally critical failure, occurring in the middle of the heating season, was instead transformed into a controlled and planned maintenance activity ahead of the next operating season.
